What are the costs?
In Pack 39, we try to keep the costs to a minimum for each family and only try to raise or collect enough money to cover our activities for the year. Estimated costs for scouting are as follows; however if financial hardship or other special considerations prevent your scout from being able to meet the expectations below, please contact the Pack 39 Cubmaster so other arrangements can be made enabling your scout to participate.
Expected Items and associated cost:
- BSA Registration ($24 - $36)
- Cub Scout Handbook ($12) (level specific)
- Official Cub Scout Shirt (with appropriate uniform patches) ($20 - $35)
- Cub Scout Hat - ($12) (level specific)
- Scout Shorts or Pants ($15 - $30)
- Cub Scout Belt - ($10) (to hold belt loops your scout earns)
- Neckerchief & Neck Slide ($12) - (level specific)
- Meeting Dues (at each Den/Pack meeting) - $2/meeting (covers crafts, Den activities, & awards).
Optional but recommended items:
- Pack T-Shirt "Class B" uniform ($10) for events not requiring the formal uniform.
Other Optional Items:
- Scout Socks ($8)
- Camping Equipment
All items can be purchased at the BSA shop, Travel Country Outdoors in Altamonte Springs, or ordered online at ScoutStuff.Org Used shirts can frequently be found on online auction sites such as e-bay, in thrift stores or at garage sales.
Youth members participate in fund-raising activities which helps to cover Pack and Den supplies, awards, and funds necessary for other pack activities. All Cub Scout Pack Leaders are volunteers and receive no compensation or discounts.
